Downtown Baltimore 's Westside has easy access to all of the City and State's intermodal transportation systems. The City of Baltimore and its region's transportation system are ranked 6th nationally by Places Rated Almanac (1999).
Amtrak
Amtrak Service is a short Light Rail ride from Downtown Baltimore's Westside. Business travelers often use Amtrak's Northeast Direct and Metroliner service when traveling to New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. Trains run both north and south on more than an hourly basis and are often more convenient than air travel because trains depart and arrive at central city destinations. MARC (Maryland Rail Commuter Service)
MARC's Camden Station stop on Downtown Baltimore's Westside is the northern most point of the MARC Camden Line that travels to Washington , D.C. A quick Light Rail ride to Penn Station gives you direct access to the MARC Penn Line that will take you to additional points north and south. The MARC Train is an integral component of Maryland 's transportation system. The 187-mile system is a major commuting option for residents of Central and Northeast MD, the Baltimore-Washington Corridor, and the Washington , Frederick , Martinsburg, WVA corridor. Metro Subway
Baltimore 's Metro Subway has two convenient service stops on the Westside at Lexington Market and Charles Center . Service between downtown Baltimore and Owings Mills in Baltimore County is available every eight minutes during morning (6 a.m.-9 a.m.) and afternoon (3 p.m-5 p.m.) rush hours and every 10-20 minutes other times. Light Rail
The Light Rail runs 30 miles from Hunt Valley in Northern Baltimore County , through the heart of Downtown Baltimore's Westside, past Oriole Park at Camden Yards, to the Cromwell Station/Glen Burnie area in Anne Arundel County . It ties the Westside to vast regions north and south of the City.
Recent expansion of the Light Rail extended service to Amtrak's Penn Station in Baltimore City and BWI Airport in Anne Arundel County . The new service intersects with current Light Rail service between the Mount Royal stop and the Linthicum stop which includes all station stops on the Westside. You are literally minutes away when traveling from the Westside to Penn Station and the Amtrak system. And many travelers to BWI from the Westside enjoy the convenience that Light Rail provides. Bus Service
MTA Bus Service is available throughout the Westside traveling north, south, east and west. MTA operates more than 60 bus routes seven days a week (some 24 hours a day), with Sunday and holiday schedules. For more information regarding routes, schedules or fares, please access the MTA web site.
