Ronald Kreitner, Executive Director, WestSide Renaissance, Inc.

Ronald Kreitner is the Executive Director of WestSide Renaissance, Inc., a 501(C)3 non-profit in Baltimore, Maryland. WestSide Renaissance, Inc. was formed in 2000 to lead a collaborative effort to revitalize the Westside of Baltimore's downtown district. The consortium of public and private sector partners has thirty-five members including major businesses, merchant organizations, philanthropic foundations, and medical and cultural institutions. Kreitner manages the daily operations of WestSide Renaissance, Inc. by coordinating and leading efforts to transform the Westside of Downtown Baltimore into a vibrant community for residential living, entertainment, shopping and business in Baltimore City.

Prior to his post as executive director of WestSide Renaissance, Inc., Kreitner served as the director of the Maryland Office of Planning from 1989 to 2000. The agency was responsible for coordination and technical support of Maryland's legislative and congressional redistricting following the 1990 U.S. Census. Kreitner was responsible for the implementation of Maryland's growth policy under the Economic Growth, Resource Protection and Planning Act of 1992 and the Smart Growth Areas Act of 1997. The agency served as the State of Maryland's Data Center and was responsible for numerous socioeconomic and geographic databases. Kreitner previously held a variety of planning and development positions with the City of Baltimore and the State of Maryland.

Kreitner holds degrees from Kent State University and Antioch College, and is an active member of the American Planning Association (APA), the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Lambda Alpha International and numerous other organizations.
